“Happy Training Day!” That just might become my new greeting whenever I see fellow Believers at the next International Training Conference in Chicago. This year’s conference was an unforgettable gathering of spirit and strength, from powerful workshops and uplifting messages to moments of unity that reminded us why we train: to serve, to protect, and to uplift.

From the moment my daughter and I landed, we felt safe and secure with our ride to the hotel thanks to Elite Team Transportation.  Elite Team Transportation, which services Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana, made sure our journey was smooth and professional. At the hotel, the excitement was in the air as we exchanged greetings and smiles with Believers from around the nation. The joy of seeing other believers was captured by Sister Alicia Starr Muhammad, who went around snapping selfies with everyone.

Friday’s conference day began with a full schedule of thought-provoking workshops for both youth and adults, which were designed to teach, build, and heal. The hallways came alive with colorful displays of photographs showcasing years of training, service, and growth. A standout session was “Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers, Serving Humanity…The Impact of the NOI/Divine 9 Relationship.” This important dialogue inspired our youth to engage in community service and understand how to collaborate with brothers and sisters in fraternities and sororities, while staying true to their faith and purpose.

Throughout the conference, a recurring theme stood out: the value of marriage and family in securing the stability of our nation. Student Supreme Captain Mustapha Farrakhan and Student National Secretary Bro. Sa’ad Alim Muhammad emphasized the need to nurture our unions, honor our mates, and protect the institution of marriage as a key cornerstone of our Nation.

In the “Take Charge of Your Post” presentation, Brother Celeritas Muhammad powerfully laid out five key areas in which we should view security:

1. Allah/God

2.Self

3. Family

4.Nation

5. Community.

He said we must all take responsibility for our posts on a daily basis. A really good point he made was to look for “breaches” or in security every day. If we don’t pray, that is a security breach.  If we don’t practice How to Eat to Live, that is a security breach also because we are jeopardizing our own safety. His message reminded us that training goes beyond physical preparedness—it encompasses our minds, our mission, and our morals. (Note:  Look at which areas of your life you are endangering yourself and use the principles from the Study Guides to engage in self-examination, self-analysis, and self-correction.)

That evening, the energy shifted to celebration with a spirited “White Party,” coinciding with the highly anticipated debut of Answered Part 3, a groundbreaking documentary by Brother Ilia Rashad Muhammad. As a seasoned researcher, writer, and filmmaker, Bro. Ilia delivered a compelling presentation filled with receipts—clear evidence about the Mother Plane and the U.S. government’s treatment of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad due to his divine insight and knowledge.

Saturday morning offered a sacred space for women to reflect, heal, and reconnect. Sisters were deeply moved by testimonies of overcoming trauma, transforming pain into purpose. Sister Tania Muhammad, one of the workshop conveners, ended the session with a touching gift: a beautiful photograph of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Mother Khadijah Farrakhan. Sister Tania proudly announced that the charming photo was captured by her husband.

Another highlight was the hands-on self-defense session where participants practiced essential techniques to help protect themselves in dangerous situations—a vital skill in today’s world. Professor Zahalea Anderson did a wonderful job teaching and demonstrating techniques for women to use.

The crowning moment of the weekend came when the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan made a special appearance, accompanied by the elegant and graceful Mother Khadijah Farrakhan. The crowd erupted in love, gratitude, and admiration, as their presence brought everything full circle—Faith, Family, and Fitness in perfect harmony.
