Educator Makes It Her Mission to Reduce Stress and Bring Free Wellness Sessions to Communities Across America

All across America, we see that stress and disease are reaching a breaking point in black communities.  One educator and fitness advocate is bringing healing directly to the people — free of charge.

Dr. Audrey Muhammad, a fitness instructor, educator, and wellness advocate with over 16 years of experience, has launched a national community wellness book tour in support of her new book entitled, Fear, Faith, Food and Fitness. Her new book title was inspired by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s timeless lecture, “Fear, Faith and Truth.” The tour offers free, one-hour community wellness events open to churches, universities, community centers, and organizations in cities across the country.

To register for a free online session, go to breathinginjoy.eventbrite.com.

Motivated by the Minister’s call to make our community a decent and safe place to live, Dr. Muhammad wants to help us make our bodies healthier and safe from the dangers of disease.

In her book, Dr. Muhammad often refers to How to Eat to Live, a book by Elijah Muhammad. Prominent Black men, such as Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali, were taught the benefits of avoiding pork and practicing fasting by Elijah Muhammad. “So many things the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote about are being recognized today.  For instance, we feared skipping a meal or fasting, but now you see the phrase “intermittent fasting” almost everywhere,” said Audrey Muhammad.

As a community, we are stressed with not only physical burdens, but also mental burdens. Dr. Muhammad is hitting the road—bringing free, life-changing wellness experiences directly to communities across the nation.  Her online fitness classes include relaxation sessions at the end.  Many of those who attended the short relaxation sessions said they were helpful.  “It was truly a pleasure. I have never meditated and I allowed myself and enjoyed a peaceful nights rest” said, Sis. Denise, Jacksonville, Florida attendee.   The relaxation sessions include breathwork techniques and meditation exercises.  Dr. Muhammad recently completed her SKY Wellness Coach Training/ Leadership Training at NCCU.

This is not your average book signing. Dr. Muhammad's community wellness sessions are uplifting and practical.  Each event blends movement, breathwork, and practical wellness education into a single, powerful hour.

The one-hour community events include 4 parts:

1.      A brief talk on the 3 mistakes we make in our health journey

2.     Movement – Utilizing line dancing etc. (optional)

3.     Book signing with Question-and-Answer session.

4.     Short relaxation demonstration

Her book, which also includes a journal to help people keep track of their progress, connects the spiritual and the physical. (To order the book, go to https://virtuetodaymagazine.bigcartel.com/product/fear-faith-food-and-fitness).

Dr. Muhammad encourages participants to overcome fear, increase their faith, and improve their fitness levels.  To register for a free session, go to breathinginjoy.eventbrite.com.  Her next online session will be June 8 at 8 p.m. EST).
