Thirty years ago, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan called one million men to Washington, DC, and nearly 2 million heeded his call. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the historic Million Man March, the believers of Muhammad Mosque No. 34, under the leadership of Student Minister Amon Muhammad, hosted a powerful and inspiring event at the Phoenix Event Center. The gathering served as both a reflection and a call to action—reminding attendees of the unity, accountability, and self-improvement that defined the March.

The evening was skillfully moderated by 18-year-old Sa’if Muhammad, whose confident, light-hearted, and engaging remarks brought warmth and laughter to the audience. The distinguished panel—Brother Rafiq Zaidi, Brother Ahmad Latif, and Dr. Audrey Muhammad—shared heartfelt insights on the enduring lessons and legacy of the March. Together, they emphasized the importance of continuing the Holy Day of Atonement and teaching new generations about the purpose and power of the Million Man March.

Each speaker offered a unique perspective: Brother Rafiq recalled how attending the March deepened his commitment to community service; Brother Ahmad, affectionately known as a “Million Man March baby,” reflected on his father’s influence and the pride of that legacy; and Dr. Audrey Muhammad, a college professor and former high school teacher, shared how the March inspired her to highlight its significance in her classrooms even today.

The program ended in a touching moment as audience members stood to share their own memories—testimonies of transformation, unity, and faith that reminded everyone that the spirit of the March still lives on.
